Health Screenings
Getting a realistic picture of your current vital health numbers is a great start on your journey to improved health. Basic screenings for all Children’s employees are available through Occupational Health, at no charge to you. You do not have to be enrolled in a Children’s medical plan option to participate in the Occupational Health Screening.
- Your Annual Health Check will include a review of medical history, updating immunization records as needed, a blood pressure check and a Quantiferon Gold blood test for tuberculosis.
- Cholesterol and CBC screenings are available on the first Thursday of every month. In order for a complete lipid profile (cholesterol screening) to be performed, you must be fasting for at least 8-10 hours prior to the blood test.
- Education on health issues, blood pressure checks and recommendations on other wellness resources available from Children’s are provided on an as-needed basis.
In addition, if you are covered under a Children’s medical plan option, your in-network preventive care (recommended based on age, gender and medical history) is covered at 100% under all three medical plan options. LiveWell encourages you to take advantage of this benefit to detect and address any health issues early on.
LiveWell provides a convenient "no excuses" opportunity for our female employees to get a routine screening mammogram by bringing a mobile mammography unit on site annually. While Children's does not recommend that you use this mobile mammography unit over other mammogram providers, you are encouraged to get this important screening.
