Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
When life gives you more than you can handle, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help. The EAP is a confidential program to assist you in dealing with problems that may affect you and your relationships at home or at work (see Contacts at the left). Children’s provides this benefit to all employees at no cost to you.
All Children’s employees and their family members are eligible to use the EAP. The UT Southwestern EAP provides a limited number of counseling sessions for issues such as:
- Aging parents.
- Anxiety.
- Career change.
- Depression/loneliness.
- Divorce.
- Dual careers.
- Eating disorders.
- Family/children problems.
- Financial/legal issues.
- Interpersonal communication.
- Job "burnout."
- Life stage changes.
- Marital problems.
- Parent/child conflict.
- Personal concerns.
- Physical abuse.
- Problems of adolescence.
- Relationship problems.
- Sexual problems.
- Single parenting.
- Stress.
- Substance abuse, addictions, codependency.
- Unresolved grief.
- Work-related problems.
EAP Presentations
The EAP offers presentations in a lunch and learn format throughout the year on topics that deal with stress in the workplace. Typical presentation topics may include "Working with Difficult People", "Depression in the Workplace" and "Workplace Harassment". EAP presentations will be announced in the Daily Briefing and will be listed on the LiveWell Introduction/Events page. EAP presentations require registration through CHEX.
