Tobacco Cessation Coaching
Quitting tobacco is one of the best things you can do for your health. It may be challenging, but you can do it with these resources.
If you (or your covered dependents age 18 or older) are enrolled in a Children’s medical plan option and are a tobacco user, you qualify to get Health Coaching through Healthyroads. You will receive up to 52 confidential, one-on-one telephone counseling sessions with a registered nurse. After you have completed three phone sessions, you will receive a Get Started! Rewards kit. This program is provided by Children’s at no cost to you.
You can sign up for Healthyroads Tobacco Cessation Coaching, or Healthyroads may reach out to you based on information from UnitedHealthcare claims, the Health Screening or Health Assessments. Call Healthyroads at 877-330-2476 to learn more.
Additional Tools
Healthyroads also offers free over-the-counter nicotine replacement therapy (gum, patch, etc.) and some useful online tools to make quitting even easier. Some of the tools include:
- Cost calculator to help you estimate how much of your income you will have available when you quit.
- Cravings tracker to help you identify when nicotine cravings hit you hardest and how to reduce them.
- Symptoms identifier to pinpoint your withdrawal symptoms and learn ways to understand and overcome them.
- Triggers identifier to help you figure out what makes you want to smoke and learn strategies to conquer your triggers.
All of these valuable tools and more are there to help you understand your tobacco habits and create strategies to help you quit once and for all.
Confidentiality

Be assured that your participation in the Healthyroads Tobacco Cessation Program, nor any of your personal health information gathered through the coaching will ever be shared with Children’s Medical Center. While your participation in these programs is encouraged, it is always your choice.
