How the Program Works

If you have Basic Life Insurance coverage through Children’s, you can receive free assistance with will preparation, funeral planning and grief counseling services for you, your spouse and your dependents through The Hartford’s Life Conversations and EstateGuidance^® programs. See the documents under Resources at the left for more details.

Here are a few of the resources available:

• Life insurance calculators to help you estimate how much you will need to protect your family.
• Estate planning, including online will preparation.
• 24/7 funeral planning from licensed funeral directors who can negotiate pricing with local funeral homes, help you plan a service and provide support.
• Legal, emotional and financial counseling to help you cope with a loss, including unlimited phone contact with a counselor for up to one year and five face-to-face sessions with a certified counselor.

This benefit is available beginning on the same effective date as your Basic Life Insurance.
