Travel Assistance
How the Program Works
You are eligible for the Travel Assistance program from The Hartford if you are covered by Children’s Basic Life Insurance. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, you and your family can get free pre-trip information, emergency medical assistance and emergency personal services at no additional cost from The Hartford. You must be traveling 100 miles or more from your home for 90 days or less to be eligible for the services. For more detailed information, see the Travel Assistance document under Resources at the left. Your Children's Group Number is 395122.
Here are some of the services offered:
- Pre-trip Assistance — Visa, passports, inoculation and immunization requirements.
- Medical Referrals* — Refers you to physicians, dentists and medical facilities worldwide.
- Medical Evacuation* — Transportation to the closest medical facility that can provide an appropriate level of care will be arranged and paid for if medically necessary.
- Dependent Children Assistance — If your dependent children are left unattended due to your hospitalization, travel arrangements will be made and funded for their return home with a qualified escort, if necessary.
*Note: The Hartford Travel Assistance does not take the place of, nor does it coordinate with your medical insurance coverage. Referral from The Hartford Travel Assistance is not a guarantee that your medical care will be covered by your insurance.
This benefit is available beginning on the same effective date as your Basic Life Insurance.
